Northern Virginia Hispanic Church Planting Task Force

Convivios

Home

The Northern Virginia Hispanic Church Planting Task Force has used convivios to aid discernment and the church-planting process. Convivios are gatherings of members of existing Hispanic congregations intended both to inform and to elicit ideas.

The Task Force began the church planting effort by consulting the leadership of the four existing congregations with worship in Spanish and, with the leaders permission, invited participation of the congregations in the convivios.

These consultations occurred over the winter, and the people of all four existing Hispanic missions have now been consulted. Overall, the response has been positive, confirmed the great need of planting a new mission in northern Virginia inside the beltway.

We hope that some members of the existing congregations that worship in Spanish will wish to participate in the initial core group of people to help found a new and become members of the new congregation. However, the need to continue existing Hispanic missions will continue.
