Northern Virginia Hispanic Church Planting Task Force
|
Initial Target Area ConsiderationsBecause of questions of Hispanic population demographics, transportation patterns, land costs, and other factors, a Demographics Research Group of the Task Force concentrated on areas of the highest Hispanic populations along areas with good transportation corridors. Explorations centered on three different areas:
The subgroup’s consensus is that the ideal location would be in central Arlington, near the Interstate 66 corridor, ideally close to the Clarendon, Virginia Square, or Ballston metro stations. However, given the high cost of acquiring land in this area, it would require multi-million dollar funding from an unexpected source (i.e., a Gift from God). Therefore, the group opted to present a list of alternative options, with estimated costs and with pros and cons so that others in the larger Task Force and the Hispanic convivios could discuss the possibilities and add their insights to the church planting process.
